CONTACT LENSES
Contact lenses offer a different set of advantages to glasses and many people prefer the convenience and freedom that they provide. We can fit all different kinds of contact lenses for different eye types and lifestyles. While not everyone can use contact lenses, new designs and materials are allowing more and more people to enjoy what they have to offer.
CONTACT LENSES APPOINTMENTS
The contact lens assessment is designed to determine whether you are a good candidate for contact lenses and to see which lenses might be best for you.
This will include a vision test, an eye health check-up and taking a series of measurements necessary for fitting the lenses to your eyes. The optometrist will also ask you some questions about your daily life to help tailor a recommendation to your lifestyle.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TYPE OF LENS
There are many different types of contact lenses available, with a variety of designs suited to different eyes and requirements.
Soft lenses are the most common and are available as daily and monthly disposables. There are also lenses designed for specific eye shapes and conditions. For example, toric lenses are most effective for people with astigmatism.
Also, included in our specialist range are MiSight contact lenses which may help to control myopia or shortsightedness, stopping it from getting worse over time.
CLEAR VISION WITHOUT GLASSES
Aftercare appointments allow us to make sure your contact lenses are still correcting your vision as they should be and check up on your general eye health.
Your optometrist will pay special attention to the surface of your eyes to ensure that the lenses are not having any negative effects. If any modifications are necessary we’ll help you handle them simply and effectively so you can go on enjoying the best eyesight possible.
